PC Strategy Games issue 1 (April 2000)

This is a magazine I'm certain most people won't have heard of. I hadn't either, until I saw it mentioned in an issue of MCV last year. I researched and wrote an article summarising everything we know about this and another related magazine, so if you're curious, learn more about PC Strategy Games here.

In this premiere issue:

  • A five-page article on the history of strategy games from ancient Mesopotamia to The Sims.
  • An interview with Sid Meier. Features information about the game Firaxis was working on at the time, Dinosaurs, which never saw release.
  • Reviews include Imperium Galactica II, the Alien Crossfire expansion for Alpha Centauri, and Lego Rockraiders. The biggest review: Risk II.
  • Unusually, it's the publisher who gets the last word, with a back-page op-ed describing the kind of reader they're making the magazine for.
